Thomas Ivins

Individual Counseling

At the Ivins Group, PLLC, we specialize in individual counseling using a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) solution-focused approach. We understand that everyone faces unique challenges, and that each person has the capacity for growth and change. Our goal is to empower you to overcome obstacles, build on your strengths, and create positive changes in your life.

Our Approach

During solution-focused counseling sessions, we will work closely with you to identify your strengths, resources, and goals. We believe that you are the expert in your own life, and our role is to provide guidance, support, and evidence-based techniques to help you reach your desired outcomes.

Positive and Strengths-Based: We believe that you already possess the strengths and resources necessary for change. Our therapists help you identify and build upon your existing strengths, fostering a positive mindset that supports growth and progress.

Collaborative and Empowering: We view therapy as a collaborative process between you and your therapist. We value your input, actively listen to your concerns, and tailor our approach to meet your specific needs. We aim to empower you by equipping you with the tools and strategies necessary for long-term success.

As we work through the process, we know some goals have deeper barriers that require a specialized skills set to address. We are trained in Emotion Focused Therapy and believe our early relationships  provide a valuable lens through which therapists can understand and address clients' emotional and relational difficulties. In your session, clients are encouraged to explore their early attachment experiences and their impact on their current beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. This exploration helps to uncover patterns, understand emotional triggers, and foster self-awareness.

Incorporating attachment theory in our process allows us to gain a deeper understanding of our emotional needs, relational patterns, and potential areas for growth. By providing a secure and supportive therapeutic environment, we can help our clients develop secure attachment styles, foster healthier relationships, and promote overall well-being.

Our approach focuses on addressing a wide range of issues, including:

Anxiety and Stress Management

Depression and Mood Disorders

Relationship and Communication Challenges

Life Transitions and Adjustments

Career and Professional Development

Self-Esteem and Confidence Building

Personal Growth and Life Satisfaction
